Languid and passive, in a dream state, perhaps? Or is the blindfold over her eyes, just for what one can see with one's eyes, or is it a symbol for that which we refuse to see? The symbols of ancient spirituality, do they float unseen, or is the blindfold necessary to see them? This piece is all encaustic brushwork, done with a molten wax and a torch. Encaustic renders fleshtones of nudes with a beautiful transparency.
